| Okay I'm having grammar problem. I'm having a problem with then and than. Are they just same meaning but spelled diffrently? Or than/then is a past tense verb? Okay I need the definition of both please I'm having trouble with those words. | |

| Then - to represent time, or to say your idea or opinion with something. (example: Back then I was so dumb. ex.2: If you can't, then put your pillow under your bed.)
Than - used to compare. (Milk is way better than juice!)

| Okay here's an ex:
I have to go to the bathroom, THEN go to my friends house. I'd rather eat yellow snow, rather than eat brown snow.
Then is a word for a time...Than is like a comparison in a way.. It's two different meanings.
If you don't like me THEN get out. If you don't like me, then I don't like you.
Than is less used ... Gah, I'm bad at examples... You should give me one .

| here's where my knowledge of grammer comes in :3 neither of them really have tenses, they are just used in specific situations. ex~ We ate dinner, THEN we got dessert. ex~ First, you get the bread, THEN you add the peanut butter and jelly. Then is used more for transitions. ex~ 4 is more THAN 3. ex~ This cup has more water THAN that cup. Than is used for comparison.
IM SUCH A NERD :D

| Okay.
Then is a transition word.
Than is like better than something.
Examples:
Then I went to the park. That pie is better than mine.
